Report For July 2010

SAN PEDRO SULA, HONDURAS
JULY 06, 2010

Beloved brethren in Christ,

I hope God bless you in all the things. Please your prayers for the God labor here and for my wife and me regarding our health, Our Lord blessed us in His Kingdom. He allowed us to do the activities as follow:

I-  Local Work:

A- Evangelism:

1- Bible Studies:
My wife, Sister Francisca and I had the opportunity to preach the gospel to 6 peoples. They are as follow: Martin Sales, Isabel García, Diana García, Daniela García, Marta Burgos, Emerita Chacón, Francisco Gómez,. These studies were carried out in three neighborhoods, El Boquerón, Chamelecón and Omoa. I could serve two Bible classes more in neighborhood Chamelecón to all groups of brethren. They asked me to preach a topic about the character of the wives and husbands in the marriages, and I did. Chamelecón is a very large community. Other home Bible classes in Chamelecón were served in the homes of the marriage Bro. David & Sandra. The Brethren that attended the study were: Bro. Nilson and his wife sister Carolina, Sister Glenda and her husband, and her daughter Gabriela Rojas. Other person invited was Keyli Mazier. A week later we had another Bible study in the same neighborhood in the Bro. Nilson & Sister Carolina home: Bro. Gustavo and his daughter attended also the study. A Sunday afternoon Sister Francisca and I were visiting neighborhood El Ocotillo to serve a Bible class in the Bro. Omar Ortiz home. In that home are three Christians (He and Omar, and Tania); and Bro. Ortiz is praying his other two daughters who are attending a Pentecostal church, they obey also the right doctrine.

2- Baptisms:
As result of those studies two persons obeyed the gospel, they are as follow: Gabriela Rojas (Sister Glenda' daughter) and Keily Mazier. We are very happy for that and please your prayers for her spiritual growth. See please some pictures attached.

3-The New God Labor:
Bro. Jose Pacheco and I are trying to initiate it in Chamelecón neighborhood, where Bros. Adolfo Brizo, Oscar Cano, and Gerardo Castillo are also collaborating, is the largest community in San Pedro Sula. They need collaboration from any brethren who can and want to participate with them. They need help to buy iron, zinc, and other materials construction to construct a provisional chapel on the yard of marriage Bro. David & Sandra. They have gathered many materials and with a few help they might construct the provisional chapel of 5 x 6 meters without tall walls. So, if some of you have the possibilities to collaborate with any quantity, it would be welcome ($20, $50, etc). Counting with Sisters Gabriela and Keily, there are 14 members: Carolina, Nilson, Sandra, David, Charly, Saúl, Gustavo, Gloria, Karina, Glenda, Keily, Gabriela, Angélica Hernandez, and Nectalicia Espinal. When the chapel is finished they will be ready to start as a new church, Meanwhile they are members in San Pedro Sula (SPS) downtown Church, and  counting with the 14 members from Chamelecón we are 77 members in SPS church.

In a country like Honduras, according with my experience, is not easy for the brethren to attend several church' services in large churches concentrated in downtown of a large cities, like SPS, or other, cause the low incomes of the brethren. It is very difficult for them to pay urban transportation to attend the church services, and other inconvenience is that we can not pay rent for a big and expensive building. The capacity of our present building is for about 75 members, but the first inconvenience is the more important cause. I have been, from many years, baptizing persons and the church did not grow so much. Most of them did not continue attending the church services, but when we the men decided to initiate La Rivera Hernandez church (Bro. Adolfo Brizo preacher) with 9 members that live there, now in four years they are 50 members. The members do not need to pay transportation. They walk to the church building, and also do not spend too much time. So, we hope in God with the new group in Chamelecón be the same.

B- Edifying:
1- My Wife Reina, Sister Francisca and I were also visiting the Sister Maria Gomez in the La Independencia neighborhood. It was her birthday (73), after the birthday celebration I had the time to teach about the marks of the Christ' Church to the present group in that occasion we took some pictures. I want to share them with you.

2- In the home of marriage of Bro. Saúl & Sister (Chamelecón) My wife I was invited to preach them a topic about Matt. 10:34-38 to help them to resist with patience the influence of their biological family who are not Christians.

3- My wife Reina, Sister Francisca, my daughter Michelle (11) and I were visiting Omoa Church 3 Sundays ago, and I preached the topic "The biblical use of the collect for the saints. 1 Cor.16:1, 2". A member took pictures, but did not appear in my camera, so I include to you only someone's took after the meeting. Pictures regarding the Bro. Rosa Mártir Burgos house construction. He is doing that with help from several brethren from SPS and USA. We remain with them from 8:00 am to 2:00 Pm. After.

4- Friday 11, June 2010, I was preaching in La Rivera Hernandez Church about Luke 13: 23 " Are few the salved?"

5- I continued teaching, on Saturdays, about the Revelation book, Chapter 11: 10-14 and practicing and learning more songs of the "Songs of the Way" book.

D- Chamelecón Church:
They are having meetings all Tuesdays and Thursdays. The preachers helping hem: Jose Santos Pacheco, Adolfo Brizo, Oscar Cano, Gerardo Castillo, and Julio C. Vasquez. Sundays they attend church services in SPS church downtown.

E- La Esperanza Church:
Tuesday June 29 to July 05. In my former visits to La Esperanza I had the opportunity to preach the gospel to one Menonita marriage 3 years ago, and I gave them Biblical materials. Bro. Jose S. Pacheco also did so in his travels. They invited me to continue studies a few weeks ago, and I planed with my wife to travel to La Esperanza to attend them. They names are: Teofilo Mendez Garcia and Maria Antonia Meza. We studied with them at least 2 hours per day during our visit. Sister Leyla accompanied us also in those studies. I had also the opportunity to preach to the Church there past Thursday and Sunday (9:00 to 10:00 am worship). As the menonita marriage obeyed the Gospel past Sunday 3:00 pm with one of their daughter in law and one granddaughter so, we needed to have worship again in other part of the city, 4:00 to 5:00 pm.  They will meet apart of the church already existent cause of their edges and the difficulties for them to cross the city to attend the church services. They will get meetings twice a week, Thursdays and Sundays. We have work to do praying our Lord in order He provides God labors, training them and get means for them to complement the God plans in this earth.  See please some pictures attached of the baptisms and of the church services there. I could study also with a drugstore owner named Lady Magdalena Castellón, her daughter Kenia and her helper Ingrid Leiva.

Report For November 2009

Special Report Concerning The New Congregation In
Omoa Port, Honduras

Dear Elders and Brothers,

Blessings in Christ for all of you. I want to share with you the living condition of the Bro. Rosa Martir Burgos Lopez and his family (His wife and 5 children). He is the preacher of the new God labor that he started in Omoa and that we have been collaborating with them. The new God labor was started about one and half year ago. At this time they are 12 members. Bro. Rosa Martir was a member in the San Pedro Sula church where I am member and preacher. As he does not have a house, he needed to move to Omoa Port, a sister in Christ loaned him a piece of land to live in. ( see please picture attached).

At this time Sister Felicita who is loaning him the land wants to help to Bro. Rosa Martir by selling him the piece of land for half of the real price of it. The real cost is $2,700. Sister Felicita is a member there in the Omoa Port Church, and she is asking only $1,350 for the land. In San Pedro Sula church we have 65 members and 15 members are collaborating with him monthly. We at this time could gather $250 in order that Bro. Rosa Martir could pay the enter of the land, and he did it. The 15 members from San Pedro Sula church will continue collaborating with him monthly until February 2010 and we think that for that time we will gather (God willing) another $400. Sister Felicita wants to receive all payment also in February 2010, so in that case we would need about $700 to complete the payment helping Bro. Rosa Martir. Do you have possibilities to collaborate with him? Any quantity is welcome to carry out this project for Bro. Rosa Martir. In the same land they have planned to construct, in the future, a little chapel to have the church meetings.

During the present year I have sent you some pictures of my visit to Omoa Church and from Bro. Rosa Martir and his family living in the piece of land that I mention you in this letter.

Below are pictures of their former borrow house and of the new one in the land their buying from Sister Felicita and their wedding some months ago. There are also pictures of Bro. Rosa Martir and their living conditions. We are trying to get with other brethren for some support for him to put more land on that piece of land to elevate the level of land to avoid the water entering their home. In another e-mail I will send you more pictures about their situation in the present winter. We would appreciate so much any answer.

With love in Christ,
Yours in Him,
Julio
